Community members can participate in the DÃa de Los Niños event at Mendez Middle School on Friday, April 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. A popular annual celebration in Mexico of children and their wellbeing, the gathering is a drive-thru event with some walk-up stations. It includes kid-friendly giveaways, safety and education tools, and more.
The DÃa celebration also promotes literacy, culture and language. To help commemorate this, the »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµPublic Library Bookmobile will be on-site giving away books.
Other highlights include car seat safety demonstrations by EMS and a fire truck for the kids to experience. »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµISD will offer pre-K registration for the upcoming school year.
»Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµPublic Health will be on-site administering COVID-19 vaccines for those who need the lifesaving shot. No appointment is necessary.
