»Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµISD Board of Trustees Names Stephanie Elizalde Lone Finalist for Superintendent

The »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµISD Board of Trustees has named Stephanie Elizalde as the lone finalist to serve as Superintendent of the »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ District. 

The decision comes after an extensive process which included six weeks of gathering stakeholder input from more than 200 organizations, 2,000 community leaders and individuals, community surveys, and community public testimony. The nationwide search included the consideration of 64 applicants from 24 states, and a comprehensive candidate interview process.

Elizalde has most recently served as Chief of Schools for Dallas ISD. Details on educational and professional background can be found on the »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµISD website.

"I am honored and humbled to be named as the lone finalist and both excited and eager to work with the board, the staff and the community," Elizalde said. "Es un honor para servir la comunidad!" 

»Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµISD Board President Geronimo Rodriguez believes Elizalde is a great fit to serve the district as its next leader.

"I am confident Dr. Elizalde is the right leader at the right time for »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµISD," Rodriguez said. "We are excited to introduce Dr. Elizalde to our students, parents, teachers, staff and our »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµcommunity."

The AISD School Board will work to schedule an official vote on the Superintendent's contract in August following a required 21 day waiting period.
